The Aegean Paddlers are a registered and certified NPO, that since 2015, is aiming to promote and develop sea kayaking in Greece.
From our 2 bases in Athens and Kalymnos islands we extend our sea kayaking trips and activities to every part of the country.
George Karpathios is the founder and C.E.O. of the Aegean Paddlers and also the person behind for all A.P. activities.
Between 2011 - 2019, George travelled to Wales several times to learn from some of the forefathers of sea kayaking, like Nigel Dennis, Gordon Brown, Jeff Allen, Eila Wilkinson, Pete Barnes and more and also to buy and import some of the best sea kayaks, paddles and equipment.
Since then, he has planned, equipped and led over 100 sea kayaking multi day trips and expeditions in Greece and the Aegean and countless daily outings and training sessions, with many dozens of sea kayakers from novice to pro levels.

A touring sea kayak is a sea vessel capable of covering long distances at sea, with good speed and carrying a substantial amount of cargo. 16 to 18 feet long, 50 to 60 cm wide and 30 to 35 cm at it's highest point. It's overall volume is between 260 to 350 litres and it's weighs about 25 kgr, depending on construction.
It has closed decks, watertight compartments for cargo, with the paddler sitting inside, lower than the water level with a spray skirt around his waist and tucked under the cockpit rim.
Good sea kayaks offer stability, agility and speed in most sea and wind conditions in Greece and built to survive the harshest conditions without structural damage.
A good example of how touring sea kayaks should be are the NDK kayaks which we import from the UK and use exclusively in all our on the water activities.
