Andros and Tinos islands are 2 major islands, at the NE border of the Cyclades. Both islands have high mountains, protecting the west Cyclades from the prominent NNE winds and waves. The 2 islands are equally exposed to the NE creating some of the most challenging conditions in the Aegean Sea.
The competent sea kayaker will be rewarded with a stretch of coastline unlike any other.
Forecast alone will not quite suffice to safely sea kayak around Andros and Tinos islands. There are localised phenomena like fierce katabatic winds that do not appear accurately on even the most accurate h.r. forecasts.
Local knowledge is advised.
